Is it me or did December just fly by? I suppose that happens at the end of the year, when you’re scrambling to finish that last work project or checking yes on every party invite to score free holiday treats. Is that last one just me? It started with an incredible dinner with three of my *idols* from college. I say idols because these three women are #careergoals. They have these incredible careers, healthy perspective on life (and good eats), and inspire me in my own job. We typically meet up once a month, usually after an alumnae/I event, and each time reminds me to surround myself with people that are passionate about their careers or hobbies. This power dinner was followed by six holiday parties, some business related and some food related. Of course, there was far too much fried food and bubbles – just the way I like it.
Luckily, this unhealthy streak was broken up by our big trip to Austin & San Antonio! Just kidding, G and I spent the last two weeks of the month in his home state of Texas, eating our way through the brisket, breakfast tacos and just ALL the good Mexicana food we could get our hands out. I’ll share some highlights from our trip later, but safe to say I <3 Austin. It was also my first time spending Christmas with G’s family (I typically come for the weekend, and fly back to visit my family)! We introduced his family to Codenames — aka the number 1 party game — and tried a fun new game called Azul. We found this second game at a San Antonio board game shop, called Knight’s Watch. They have about 200+ board games you can play for free (and many more to buy), but the best part is the two giant huskies.
Now, we’re back in Brooklyn and catching up on a ton of work. We’re having a low key celebration with some friends in the building… and you guessed it, some nibbles and bubbles (aka the best party combination). I hope you all have a wonderful (and safe) celebration tonight. Cheers to 2020!
